With the starvation in a prison in Pathein of Irrawaddy Region five ethnic Rohingya prisoners were reportedly died in the month of March, 2023.
According to a confidential source, a Rohingya was severely beaten up prison staff with fabricated accusation of killing of a domestic cat on 19 March, 2023 that resulted to dying with severe injuries, while four other Roh prisoners died for starvation.
Source in condition of anonymity confirmed that Muslim community in Irrawaddy Region came to know about the dead but failed to perform religious funeral for the matters of restriction of military control prison authority in
Pathein Prison even in sending food for the victim of starvation in last few months.
Source also added that the regime has arrested over 700 Rohingya in Irrawaddy Region, and 200 of them are detained in Pathein Prison. All these Rohingya were forced to leave their ancrs homeland of Arakan State to escape Persecutions, even burning genocidal operation aga the Rohingya. ##
