Russian prominent Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences has conferred honorary doctoral degree to brutal military chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and that was duly accepted on April 3, 2023, according to military Information Team.
Min Aung Hlaing expressed that the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which is established with the aim of doing research on histories, languages, literatures, economic, social, racial and cultural affairs of the countries of Asia and North Africa.
Min Aung Hlaing also added that many Myanmar citizens have also studied at various universities in Russia and obtained high degrees. A lot more are also studying in Russia now. Continued efforts will be made for greater cooperation in the military technology between the armed forces, education, science and culture as well as in other multilateral sectors.
President of the institute said that Myanmar is having improvement of sectoral cooperation and relations with Russian Federation including science and technological sector. The Institute has decided to cooperate with Myanmar.
The Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences unanimously decided to confer the honorary doctoral degree on the Senior General for his excellent performances in sectoral cooperation and development measures including humanitarian and sought the approval to confer the degree on the Senior General.
The president of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences also clarified that professors and he are interestingly studying matter related to Myanmar at the most long-lasting and largest Institute of Oriental Studies established in the reign of His Majesty Russian Tsar Alexander I of Russia in 1818.
Such honorary doctoral degree is a kind of support for political legitimacy. The world should look into the matter as Ming Aung Hlaing is recorded as one of the criminals at the world highest court of International Court of Justice (ICJ) and International Criminal Court (ICC), said Mohammed, a genocide survivor from Arakan. ##
