Indian government is going to build 250 houses in three villages in Maungdaw, northern Rakhine State, a source said.
It was confirmed on March 10 that Indian government will donate the construction of 250 houses to Myanmar government.
The Indian government will build 42 houses for IDPs in Nantthartaung village, Maungdaw, 60 houses in Kyeinchaungtaung village and 148 houses for Hindus in Shwezar village.
Mr B Shyan, Indian Deputy Ambassador to Myanmar, and his entourage went on a field trip to Nantthartaung village, Kyeinchaungtaung village and Shwezar village and met with the internally displaced persons on March 10.
ARSA extremist terrorists burned down the houses including the monastery in Nantthartaung village, Taungpyo Letwe. At the moment, the monastery is being renovated and new houses will be donated by the Indian government, said Buddhist monk Nantthartaung Sayadaw.
On February 26, Dr Win Myat Aye, Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, received Mr Vikram Misri, Indian Ambassador to Myanmar. Under the agreement signed by Myanmar and India for development of Rakhine State during December in 2017, Hindustan Prefab Ltd will build 250 houses in the first phase.
