{"id":810,"date":"2017-04-29T02:55:08","date_gmt":"2017-04-29T02:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/arakanwatch.org\/?p=810"},"modified":"2017-04-30T07:05:51","modified_gmt":"2017-04-30T07:05:51","slug":"local-administration-ordered-to-displace-villagers-in-maungdaw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arakanwatch.org\/en\/local-administration-ordered-to-displace-villagers-in-maungdaw\/","title":{"rendered":"Local administration ordered to displace villagers in Maungdaw"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Maungdaw Correspondent &#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">29 April 2017<\/p>\n<p>The Local administration\u00a0officials and Hlun Htein forces ordered to displace houses and move them out from former places to marshlands in the village tracts of Kya Ri Prang and Na Sa Pru in Maungdaw North on Friday, 28 April 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Eyewitnesses in the village said, the officials went to these two villages with the displacement order where former residents of the village were now living in temporary shelters built on their former homestead razed during the first days of the socalled clearance operation. \u00a0The Rohingyas who did not escape to Bangladesh during atrocities have now erected small huts in the place of their homesteads and have been passing their days with utter misery and dismay.<\/p>\n<p>The government officials told the Rohingyas that the houses which were hit by government forces in the &#8216;clearance operation&#8217; have turned legally into the property of the government. So as per government order, they would be displaced and successively be relocated to an area designated by the officers.<\/p>\n<p>The area designated for them is on the marshlands, that gets submerged during the rainy season where it is impossible to stay in that area even in normal times, and during the rainy season, they can only live in boats instead of houses.Most of the residents of these two villages have fled to neighboring Bangladesh during the crackdown. It will be Rohingya free zone if the few remaining residents of Kya Ri Prang and Na Sa Gru be made to leave the area.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_695\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-695\" style=\"width: 678px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-695\" src=\"http:\/\/arakanwatch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/ro-women-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"678\" height=\"381\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arakanwatch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/ro-women-1.jpg 678w, https:\/\/arakanwatch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/ro-women-1-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 678px) 100vw, 678px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-695\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tens of thousands of Rohingya flee Arakan to escape inhuman persecution.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The government is to hatch another plot to evacuate Muslim Rohingya from the land of their fore-fathers and capture these areas subsequently. Earlier in February, Hlun Htein officials ordered the villagers in Sa Li Frang, Ra Bai La, Sau Ra Gazi Bil and Bor Gazi Bil to leave their houses as all their land property previously occupied by the Muslims now belong to the government.<\/p>\n<p>The Tatmadaw led security forces carried out heinous crimes including extra judicial killings, throwing infant children into the fire, firing randomly at civilians, raping and abducting women, gruesome torture in custody \u00a0during the first four months of so-called clearance operation on the plea to the involvement of villagers in the attack on police post in October last year.
