SAUDI Arabian Ambassador to Burma (Myanmar) have exchanged cordial ideas with Burmese Military Council for the repatriation of Rohingya to Burma as displaced persons, despite the existence of genocidal operations.<\/p>\n
On September 8, 2023, Military Council’s Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received Mr Saud bin Abdullah Alsubaie, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw.<\/p>\n
During the call, Saudi Ambassador reportedly impressed the ideas on their economic and bilateral development through varou aspects, which may begin with a new initiative of the implementation of repatriation process of Rohingya from Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n
Repatriation plan is a primary support as an extension of helpful hands for Chinese projects in Arakan (Rakhine) State and that repatriation may lead to victimise the persecuted Rohingya, said a Rohingya human rights defender from Saudi Arabia on condition of anonymity for security reasons.<\/p>\n
Being with Islamic faith, we are unable to express many issues in Saudi Arabia, even the matter of modern day salvation of Rohingya. Saudi Authority blocked our refugee application to the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, he further said.<\/p>\n
It’s really crucial that Saudi’s resident permits for Rohingya as Burmese or Burmavee are not permanent but only for enslavement for generations, said an activist who declined to mention his name and whose parents were born in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n
In such manner, military Council Minister and Saudi Ambassador in Rangoon cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the further enhancement of the existing friendly bilateral relations and cooperation, including mutually beneficial cooperation in the areas of trade and investment, energy and labour, hotel and tourism, and exchange of culture and languages, accelerating ongoing negotiation of the further cooperation agreements.##<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
