A Rohingya woman and her three children have been killed in a fire at a Rohingya transit camp in Kutupalong of Cox’s Bazar.<\/p>\n

The fire broke out around 9:00pm on Thursday when most of the people inside the UN-run camp in Ukhia were asleep.<\/p>\n

Police said the fire originated from a candle inside a tent, where Rohingya refugee Abdur Rahim and his family members were sleeping.<\/p>\n

The victims are Rahim’s wife Noor Haba, 30, their son Amin Sharif, 8, and daughters Asma Bibi, 5, and Dilshan Bibi, 12.<\/p>\n

The victims were rushed to a nearby medical camp\u00a0with severe burns, said Chailau Marma, additional superintendent of police in Cox’s Bazar, quoting camp officials.<\/p>\n

They died in the medical camp early hours yesterday.<\/p>\n

The family crossed into Bangladesh from Myanmar’s Rasidhong area around a week ago, he added.<\/p>\n

A committee, led by the Cox’s Bazar DC, has been formed to investigate fire, said Md Nikruzzaman, Ukhia upazila nirbahi officer.<\/p>\n
