Full Report is:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/arakanwatch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/I-THOUGHT-I-WOULD-DIE-BROUK-Report.pdf\">I-THOUGHT-I-WOULD-DIE-BROUK-Report<\/a><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv9648271501MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The Rohingya are currently being targeted by the fourth wave of ethnic cleansing against them in the past five years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv9648271501MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\">This new report,\u00a0<b>\u2018I Thought I Would Die\u2019<\/b>\u00a0presents evidence of violations of international law being perpetrated against the Rohingya, including attacks on children, indiscriminate use of landmines, random firing on fleeing villagers and the use of rape.\u00a0 These accounts add to a growing body of evidence which points the finger squarely at the Myanmar security forces.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv9648271501MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The sheer frequency and acuity of this kind of abuse against the Rohingya, committed against the backdrop of chronic and decades-old state persecution, point to an ongoing strategy of \u201csystemic weakening\u201d of the ethnic Rohingya community as a whole, which has been argued to be a precursor stage to full-blown genocide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv9648271501MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Since the latest bout of violence against Myanmar\u2019s ethnic Rohingya minority erupted into life on 25th August 2017, the government and military wings of Myanmar\u2019s hybrid government have fallen back on tried and tested narratives of denial.
