MAPIM CALL ON ASEAN AND THE UN TO IMMEDIATELY STOP MYANMAR AGGRESSION<\/p>\n
Mapim is calling for immediate action by Asean and the UN to the current re-launch of military and extremist attacks on Rohingya villages in the districts of Maungdaw Buthidaung and Rathidung West Myanmar by the goverment army and the Buddhist extremists.<\/p>\n
In breaking news by media and footages sent by victims who are taking refuge, last night 24 th August, has seen full attack and killings of dozens of Rohingyas.<\/p>\n
Thousands of Rohingyas are trapped in the operation.<\/p>\n
The attrocities is escalating and a repeat of mass attacks similar to the “cleansing operation” in October 2016- March 2017 , which are targeting Rohingya is now underway.<\/p>\n
We call for immediate intervention from member countries of Asean , UN Security Council and OIC.<\/p>\n
We condemn the military operation which is now murdering indiscriminately civilian Rohingyas under the pretext of hunting down terrorists.<\/p>\n
The international community cannot tolerate the mass killings of the Rohingyas who are already under decades of persecution by the Myanmar government .<\/p>\n
We are calling an international peace keeping troops to be deployed immediately to halt the bloodshed.<\/p>\n
The Myanmar government has responded irresponsibly to the decisions by the UN and OIC to stop the oppression on the Rohingya.<\/p>\n
Even the fact finding delegates from the UN were barred from entering Myanmar<\/p>\n
The agencies must act now before more lives are lost by the military aggression.<\/p>\n
