Rohingya ethnic minority members are in fear of communal conflict infiltration in Sittwe (Akyab) Township of Arakan State, Burma/Myanmar, following harmonious seen appearance in between Buddhist and Muslim, said an elderly Rohingya man on condition of anonymity.
On the 2nd day of Eid-Al-Fitr (Muslim Religious Festival), many Rohingya Arakanese were visiting at Sittwe point, where numbers of Rakhaing Arakanese were visiting there on the occasion of Thingyan (Buddhist) New Year Festival. Both sister communities of Arakanese people were found very harmonious, he further added.
We are like one soul in our land (Arakan) but outside infiltration of communal hatred and tension disperse our solidarity and harmonious lives. We don’t have problems to stay together and to eat from same pot of rice and same pond of water as we both Buddhists and Muslims aboriginal people of this land, said Aung Myo, a social activist from Sittwe.
There are some extremists who are paid by outsiders to make the state unrest in order to enjoy the fruits of Arakan, especially Arakan Natural Resources like Shwe Gas, Oil, Rice, Timbers, Fisheries and etc., he further mentioned.
With a view to achieving the goals of outsiders, a serious tension was infiltrated through the killing of Muslim pilgrims in Taungyup in 2012 and that made the state unrest. Later on, military and opportunities quarters have taken advantages by bring people into IDP camps and exterminating from the state.
As it, we are in fear of tension infiltration from outsiders as they are not happy on harmonious life among the people of Arakan, activist mentioned on worrying mode. ##
